- Place the new piece on your half.
The line above the loot card says what to do. Checkmate wins.

Opponent
Easy: sees one move ahead and plays loosely. A good first opponent.
You play
White moves first and sees the first loot first; the next pair goes to Black first.
How to play
Chess with loot
- Chess on a 6x6 board with no Bishops. Pawns step one square and become a Queen on the last row. Checkmate wins.
- Loot appears in pairs on empty middle squares, mirror images through the centre: after each side's first move, then every 9 moves (both players' moves count). The loot card counts down.
- End a move on a gold coin to claim it, then place that piece (a Pawn or a Knight) on any empty square of your half.
Loot appears
End a move on it
Place it on your half
- Unclaimed coins vanish when the next pair appears. The kinds go Pawn, Knight, Knight, Pawn, then repeat.
Small print
On the board: dots are moves, rings are captures and coins you can claim, and each coin shows the piece it gives. While you place, the other half is dimmed. Undo takes back your last turn, but never past new loot.
